Gunmen fire at cops in Tunisia massacre town

1	TWO men on a motorbike have opened fire on three cops, killing one, near the coastal resort of Sousse where a jihadist killed 38 tourists in June.

3	A TUNISIAN policeman has been shot dead by two assailants on a motorcycle near the coastal resort of Sousse where a jihadist gunman killed 38 tourists in June.
4	The Tunisian Interior Ministry said in a statement the attackers opened fire on three policemen on the outskirts of the coastal city on Wednesday.
5	Two of the men were not wounded, while the one who was shot died on the way to the hospital.
6	Earlier statements from security officials had said the other two had also been hit.
7	Police official Sahbi Jouini told AP the attackers used a rifle before speeding away.
8	The ministry statement said a vast search was underway for the attackers, who shot at the police while they were waiting in the low-income neighbourhood of Hay Zohour for transportation to the neighbouring town Kairouan.
9	Rafik Chelly, secretary of state for national security, told AFP: "Unknown assailants fired on three policemen on a road. One of them was hit and died in hospital. An investigation is under way. We can't say any more."
