1	BALTIMORE - Baltimore has had more killings than New York City this year, and its homicide rate per 100,000 people is greater than New York's and Chicago's.
2	Baltimore has had 212 killings this year.
3	New York has had 208, despite a vast population disparity.
4	New York has 8.2 million residents, while Baltimore has 622,000.
5	The Baltimore Sun reported Thursday (http://bsun.md/1gYUgmw ) that Baltimore's homicide rate is 34 killings per 100,000 people, while New York's is 2.5 per 100,000.
